Viking River Cruises is the world’s largest river cruise company operating its own fleet of more than 20 four and five-star luxury ships on the rivers of Europe and beyond.

The main cruising season operates from April-November, with a full programme of departures. Itineraries range from seven to nine, 10, 11 and 14 nights.

The choice of river cruise options has never been so extensive. As well as the traditional favourites - Rhine, Main, Moselle, Danube, Elbe, Soane, Rhone and Seine - the waterways of Russia have been a popular addition over the last few years, giving passengers easy access to some of the country’s most iconic attractions.

However, the rivers Rhine and Danube continue to be the top sellers, traveling through some of Europe’s loveliest countryside to historic regions of Austria, Germany and Holland. These sailings attract the bulk of first-time river cruise passengers and a high level of repeat business.

With increasing demand for new river cruise options, China is also offered with a choice of three, four or nine day cruises on the Yangtze combined with a variety of land tours. Viking River Cruises is the only company to operate five star luxury ships on the river.

Unlike ocean cruising, river journeys take you right into the heart of each country’s small villages and towns in addition to the popular sites and cities.

The vessels are designed with panoramic windows, a sun deck and river-view cabins to make the most of all the sightseeing opportunities. Meals include regional specialities and traditional favourites.

Viking also runs a separate winter programme with a selection of cruises on the Rhine, Danube and Seine. As well as the popular Christmas Markets and festive cruises over the Christmas and New Year period, Viking also offers themed cruises.

All cruises are based on full board accommodation and include a host of shore excursions, transfers and return scheduled flights.
