Seabourn Cruises
Independent Expert Reviews by Professional Travel Journalists
The Yachts of Seabourn offers ultra luxurious cruising on board intimate ships with a relaxed personal feel, similar to that of an oversized yacht.
Carrying just 208 passengers each, the three sister vessels are able to visit less-frequented destinations that only small ships can reach.
From this month (January) through to April 2009, the three ships will visit more than 200 ports in 55 countries on 127 voyages.
The Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Scandinavia and Russia, Asia, Africa and the Americas will all be explored on cruises of five to 18 days or longer.
The three award-winning Yachts of Seabourn - Legend, Pride and Spirit - will benefit from multi-million pound renovations by April 2008. The work will include significant upgrades to the open-air dining venues onboard, enhancing the options for guests to enjoy evening entertainment ‘Under the Stars’.
The Veranda Cafés, which overlook the wake of the ships, are having outdoor sections extended and will feature a graceful new awning for enhanced weather protection and a dramatic touch of style.
The Sky Bars, overlooking the sun decks are a popular gathering spot both day and night, are being enlarged by removing twin staircases leading from the deck below and replaced with a single stairway, increasing the deck space for dining and on-deck entertainment.
Further features of the revamp include upgrading interior décor within all suites, many public areas and to the treatment rooms in the spas on board each vessel.
The ships’ livery is being updated and will now feature a sleek black decorative line along the sheer of the hull and the distinctive shield emblem in gold on the funnel.
A new ship, Seabourn Odyssey, will be launched in spring 2009.
