Peter Deilmann Cruises prides itself on offering passengers award-winning European river cruise holidays and world-wide ocean cruise itineraries, all in the lap of luxury.

Rather than chartering their ships from various sources, Peter Deilmann Cruises owns and operates all eight of its river vessels and the traditional ocean-going Art Nouveau vessel Deutschland.

On board the five-star flagship Deutschland, passengers can relive the elegance of 1930’s ocean travel and enjoy a range of itineraries that span the globe.

With capacity for just 520 guests, the ship is small enough to reach remote corners such as Greenland, Spitsbergen, Madagascar and Cuba, and it has even docked in Cardiff Bay.

The ship has 300 staff, giving a ratio of over two members of staff per passenger, which reinforces the emphasis on luxury relaxing holidays with a highly personalised service.

Voyages include sailings in the Mediterranean, Baltic, North Sea and Arctic, across the Atlantic, North, South and Central America, the South Pacific, Australia, Asia, India, Indian Ocean, Middle East and Africa.

Early 2008 will see calls at such exotic destinations as Dubai, Mumbai, Phuket, Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City before returning to Europe in March for an April Black Sea Cruise.

The vessel’s 2008-09 sailings include a return to South Africa plus the Seychelles, Mombassa, Zanzibar, Reunion Island and Mauritius after an absence of two years.

In total, there are 27 different itineraries which cover 31 ports of call including overnight stays of between one and three nights. Cruises range from two-night Hamburg sampler trips to 20-night voyages.

River cruising is both the perfect introduction to cruising, where land is always in sight, as well as the ideal alternative to conventional land tours.

The company specialises in offering four and five-star niche cruising on the great rivers of Europe. Rivers included are: Danube, Rhône, Saône, Seine, Rhine, Neckar, Elbe, Havel, Moldau, Moselle and Oder.

The river vessels offer cruises along Europe's major rivers from late March to November, visiting destinations across France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria.

The river cruise itineraries range from seven to 14-nights and are sold as fly-cruises with the option to pay cruise-only and drive or take the train to the embarkation point.

Optional shore excursions include; wine tasting in France, Germany and Austria, guided tours of Schoenbrunn Palace in Vienna, and a trip to Versailles outside Paris. These excursions give passengers access to the finest in Europe’s history, art and architecture.

Peter Deilmann Cruises also offers themed and special interest cruises. Choices include music, golf, gardening, cycling and walking.

These vary from Deutschland’s International Music Gala at Sea and classical music cruises along the Danube to the opportunity to play at some of the world’s best golf courses.
