Celebrity Cruises returns to Europe in summer 2008 with four ships consistently rated among the world’s best for their impeccable service and state-of-the-art amenities.
The US premium line’s 2008 European season will see Century, Constellation, Galaxy, and Summit deployed in Europe.
The fleet includes Mercury, Galaxy and the recently refurbished Century, (each with 1,870 passengers), Millennium, Infinity, Summit and Constellation (1,950) and Zenith (1,354).
The ships sail in Alaska, Bermuda, Canada, California, Caribbean, Europe (Mediterranean, Baltic/Scandinavia), Galapagos Islands, Hawaii, Mexican Rivera, Panama Canal and South America, Australia and New Zealand.
The latest European deployment sees Harwich as a new departure port for the company with Celebrity Constellation running a nine-night Scotland and Ireland cruise in April before launching a series of 14-night, Scandinavia and Russia itineraries throughout the summer.
Celebrity Summit opens its European season on April 29, with a 12-night Best of Europe cruise from Southampton to Barcelona. The ship will then run a series of 12-night Mediterranean sailings from Barcelona and Venice, featuring overnight stays in Venice. The ship’s 2008 Mediterranean season concludes with a series of 14-night voyages featuring overnight stays in the stunning locations of Venice; Ephesus (Kusadasi), Istanbul and Civitavecchia (the port of Rome).
Celebrity Century will be based in Amsterdam, offering 12-night Scotland and Ireland sailings, a series of 12-night Scandinavia and Russia cruises, an Arctic Circle and North Cape voyage, and a 10-night Ireland and Norwegian Fjords cruise. The ship will spend the rest of the summer and autumn operating from Barcelona with a series of Western Mediterranean and Morocco sailings.
Celebrity Galaxy will sail from Civitavecchia on a series of 10 and 11-night sailings, each featuring an overnight stay in Istanbul, from May to December.
The line will end the year with the introduction of the first in a new class of larger ships with the launch of Celebrity Solstice in December.
To be joined by Equinox in 2009 and Eclipse in 2010, the 2,850-passenger vessels will have larger standard cabins, 85% of which will feature balconies.
The three so-called 118,000-tonne Solstice-class ships will feature cabins which will be 15 per cent larger with more spacious bathrooms and additional storage space.
