Independence of the Seas is set to become the third in the spectacular Freedom class of ships. Upon her May 2008 debut in the United Kingdom from Southampton, she will be the largest ship ever to be home-ported in Europe. From May 2008 through until the end of October 2008 (last sailing October 26th) there are 14 different cruises available from Southampton. Independence of the seas offers a staggering choice of entertainment, including , the worlds first onboard surf park, and the amazing H2O Zone, perfect for the children, with water cannons, interactive fountains and swimming pools.
The ship also features the largest ever rock climbing wall, an ice skating rink and even cantilevered whirlpools that extend 12ft from the side of the ship.
The Royal Promenade located at the centre of the ship stands 4 decks high and is the length of two football pitches, 24 hour dining, a variety of entertainment options and world class shopping is available.
Whichever way you look at this ship it?s virtually impossible not be impressed. The scale, the attention to detail, the levels of innovation and of course the overall value she offers will need to be experienced at some point.
After experiencing first hand this magnificent vessel, the ?tag? line ?way more than a cruise? , used by Royal Caribbean, is most definitely accurate. If you get the chance to plan some of your valuable holiday time onboard Independence of the Seas (4, 11 and 14 night cruises are available) take it, that would be our advice.
